Le Scarlet Cardigan se tricote de haut en bas, avec une ligne de mailles endroit en relief au centre du dos, de chaque côté du corps ainsi que sous chaque manche. La première partie de l’empiècement dos se tricote à plat, en allers-retours, avec la pente des épaules façonnée à l’aide de rangs raccourcis. Ensuite, un bord i-cord est tricoté le long de la bordure de montage de l’empiècement dos. Les mailles de chaque épaule sont relevées le long de cet i-cord, puis les épaules se tricotent séparément à plat, en allers-retours. Les épaules comportent des augmentations pour former l’encolure en V. Le devant et le dos sont ensuite réunis pour former le corps, qui se tricote à plat sur aiguilles circulaires. Les manches se tricotent à partir de mailles relevées le long des emmanchures. Enfin, les mailles sont relevées le long des devants pour tricoter une patte de boutonnage double.

Le Scarlet Cardigan est conçu pour avoir environ 25 cm d’aisance positive pour les petites tailles, puis progressivement moins pour les plus grandes. Les tailles XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) sont prévues pour un tour de poitrine de 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. Les mesures du cardigan fini se trouvent sur la première page du patron. Attention : ces mesures ne sont valables que si l’échantillon est respecté. Mesurez-vous avant de commencer votre projet pour déterminer la taille qui vous ira le mieux. Par exemple, si votre tour de poitrine est de 90 cm, vous devriez tricoter la taille S, qui mesure 115 cm de tour de buste, vous donnant ainsi 25 cm d’aisance.
